Deborah Garcia

Principal
My name is Debbie Garcia, and I am so honored to be Head of School here at SUPER School. I grew up in the Chicago area and moved to Indiana in 2006. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Business and also a Master’s Degree in Education. I went back in 2015 to receive my Administrative Certificate. I began teaching in Indianapolis as a Special Education Teacher, and worked my way up to be the Assistant Principal here at SUPER in 2016. I enjoy exercising, cooking, reading, watching movies, and spending time with my family. I look forward to serving the SUPER School Community!

Megan Vite

Assistant Principal
Hello! My name is Megan Vite and I serve as the Assistant Principal at SUPER School. I am very proud to have been with SUPER School for over 10 years. I started out as a 1st grade teacher, and then served in different capacities such as: Intervention Teacher, ELL Teacher, ELA coach, 5th grade teacher, and the School Testing Coordinator. I received my Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, and ELL certification at IUPUI in 2007 & 2010. I completed my Building Administration Program through Marian University in 2017. When not at school, I enjoy spending time with my wonderful husband, Santander, and 2 kids Sammy and Sarah. We enjoy going to church, playing at the park, and finding adventure through country drives. I firmly believe great things are happening at SUPER School and under current leadership team, SUPER School has a bright future ahead.

Nancy Stewart

Dean of Students
My name is Nancy Stewart and I am the proud Dean of Students at SUPER School! I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 2005 and a Masters Degree in Special Education along with certificates in both Response To Intervention and Autism in 2017. Before my current position, I have enjoyed over 16 years of educating children, my roles have included a Third grade teacher, Fourth grade teacher, Fifth grade teacher, Sixth grade ELA teacher, Behavior Specialist, Instructional Coach, and Title 1 teacher. I enjoy spending time with my husband (Paul), our four children (Anthony 17, Gino 13, Enzo 7, & Giorgi 4), and our dog (Lucci). I am grateful to have the opportunity to work with SUPER school students every day, and provide supports in Academic and Social Emotional Growth!

Christy Owens

Operations Manager
Welcome! My name is Christy Owens and I have had the privilege of working at SUPER School for 13 years. I live on the Southside of Indianapolis with my husband Eric, Daughter Kayla who attends IU Kelley School of Business and my Goldendoodle Wrigley. I began working here when we were Frederick Douglass #19 as the Behavior Facilitator, then I became Secretary and now I serve as SUPER Schools Operation Manager. I enjoy being an Aunt, traveling with friends and family, and reading by the pool. Please let me know if you need anything!

Cory Colby

Coach

My name is Cory Colby, I am an instructional coach at SUPER School.  I have considered SUPER School my home for the past 3 years. After graduating from IUPUI in 2010 I started my teaching career in Indianapolis Public Schools.  Over the course of 10 years I have taught different grade levels and subjects.  Speedway is home with my four children where I enjoy being a dad.  My hobbies include cooking, biking, and spending time exploring local parks.   As an instructional coach I plan to support all teachers by providing them with constructive insights and effective teaching methods that I have gathered from my own classroom experiences. I hope that my supportive role will tremendously benefit either the internalization of mathematics curriculum or overall classroom instruction

Kim Ward

ABL Coach
Hello! My name is Ms. Ward, and this is my 29th year of teaching. I am the Action Based Learning coach (ABL) and am a certified ABL Master trainer. I graduated from IUPUI with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Physical Education. I taught physical education for 22 years and then became the Action Based Learning teacher here at SUPER school. This is my 3rd year as the ABL coach here at SUPER school. I have a Frenchie pug dog named Brindi. My faith, family and friends are very important to me. I love bling and love to craft during my free time.

Lisa Woods

Counselor
Hello, my name is Lisa Woods and I am so excited to meet each of my students and get to know them! This is my 21st year being a School Counselor and I enjoy it every day! I am from Indianapolis, Indiana and attended Park Tudor School for high school. I went to Hampton University in Virginia for college where I majored in Psychology and minored in Special Education. I began my Counseling career in Washington Township where I was a Middle School Counselor for 17 years at Westlane Middle School. Nothing has given me more joy than to start working for Indianapolis Public Schools in 2017. I have worked at John Marshall Middle School, School #51, and now I am at my favorite school of all time, Super School #19! I love working with students of all ages, and I know that you will love Super School as much as I do! Let’s go Jaguars!

Emily Crandall

Community Cordinator

I have worked in the Indianapolis Public School system for 10 years.  I started as an Instructional Assistant and have also worked as a Behavior Adjustment Facilitator and Parent Involvement Educator.  This is my third year taking on the role of Community Coordinator.  I love my job and the SUPER School 19 families, students, and community I serve. My goal is to make a difference in the life of a child and to make a positive impact on the families at SUPER School.

In my free time I love to travel, play golf, go out to dinner, and spend time with friends and family. I love relaxing on the beach and going to see a good live music concert (The Killers are my favorite). My husband Jeb and I have a cat Jax who we adore and spoil rotten.  My favorite quote is "Be the change you wish to see in the world" by Ghandi.
